iPhone 8 News

apple iphone 8

The iPhone is the most anticipated and talked about tech product of our generation, with people lining up around corners to buy the new iPhone as soon as it hits stores. Apple Computers hit a jackpot with the Smartphone that has taken over the world because of its innovation and user friendly, minimalist design.

With the iPhone 7 still in the pipelines and scheduled for the traditional fall unveiling on 7th September, 2016, the iPhone 8 is still a year away. But with Apple striving constantly towards new design concepts and integrating new technology in its smart phones, rumors have already begun circulating the iPhone 8 – particularly rumors about changes in exterior, overall design, number of models, and specifications.

No Home Button?

A lot of the rumors surrounding the iPhone 8 have been going on for a few years so they are questionable at best. The biggest rumor is that the iPhone 8 will come without a Home button. This comes as a huge design innovation hit to the masses, especially after it has been rumored that the iPhone 7 will come without the 3.5mm headphone jack that the world is accustomed to.

If this rumor is true and the iPhone 8 is really not going to have a Home button, this means edge to edge screen space without any obstruction. The touch ID fingerprint sensor and the front camera have also been rumored to be built into the screen. The display is also rumored to be OLED instead of the LCD that iPhones have been coming out with, which means that there are chances that the iPhone 8 might be even thinner.

Bye-Bye to the Headphone Jack

There might also be the absence of the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is rumored to have been replaced in the iPhone 7 models also – with users expected to rely instead on lightning headphones, wireless headphones or an adapter.

iPhone 8 Goes Glass

Another rumor circulating the iPhone 8 is the radical design change that Apple has been hinting at. Since 2017 will be the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, Apple is sure to have something big planned. And what could be bigger than changing the iPhone to have a glass body – reminiscent of the iPhone 4.

There are rumored to be three models of the iPhone 8, with one model to have a glass body and OLED screen – for now it is unsure if both features will be in the same model.

The iPhone 8, set to be unveiled in fall 2017, is definitely going to see more rumors ahead of and closer to the unveiling date. For now, iPhone aficionados can set their calendars for 7th September for the iPhone 7 unveiling at the Bill Graham Auditorium in San Francisco.
