The sport played across the globe using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net is known as “badminton” played with the most common form of either a single’s game or a doubles’ game it is enjoyed and quite popular in modern era sports. The sport is mostly a casual game that can be played anywhere whether in a backyard, school playground or even at the beach. The aim of the game is to strike the shuttlecock with the racquet and try to land it within the opposing side’s half of the court.

During the 2016 Olympic Games hosted in Rio De Jenerio, it seemed that the Chinese had the upper hand when it came to the result of the ten-day event. With over three medals won The Chinese athlete’s hand stole the spotlight of the evening.

Similar changes in the singles tournaments also applied to the players competing in the doubles, as the NOCs could only enter two pairs if both were ranked in the top eight, while the remaining NOCs were entitled to one until the quota of 16 highest-ranked pairs was filled.

The Women’s Single category was won by Carolina Marin from Spain going for the gold medal, along with P.V. Sindhu from India going in for the Silver medal, and Nozomi Okuhara from Japan with a victory of the bronze medal.

With the result of the 10-day events, there was no doubt that the Chinese had domination over the badminton court around the world, with over three medals won by its representatives the nation was the center of the spotlight.
